Zikomo, Baner Road

This place has fantastic ambiance to match its food. Will not let you down. Order anything and it will come out just fine. I sampled it with friends when they had a movie fest going on. One could book a table in advance and dine and watch a movie on the projector. Decently priced too.

Kahaani

B(V)idya Balan has done it again! What a thriller!The movie is fast paced and lays stress on details. Kudos to Director Sujoy Ghosh for the magnum opus. Well defined characters who bring Kolkata alive on screen. Now who will not be nostalgic with the lanes of Manick Tolla and Burra Bazaar in Pujo? Does "Bhalo Naam" ring a bell? Will you now not be suspicious of the benign Bengali gent who is an insurance agent by the day and a smiling assassin in his alternate avatar? The Kokata policemen in their white uniforms who are IT illiterate but are hopelessly romantic? And the climax? Simply awesome!

That is not all, we have our good old Amitabh Bachchan lending his voice to that timeless song: Ekla Chalo Re!
Beautiful. Mesmerizing. Breathless.

Paan Singh Tomar

From the ravines comes a hero, only to return to it and go the cowboy way. Irfan Khan as the wronged athlete, is a treat to watch. Tignmansh Dhulia has spun a tale so vivid and surreal that you live the protagonist's triumphs and defeats as it were your own. Mahie Gill has potential, that she has always shown be it in DevD or Sahib, Biwi... here though the character predictably did not have much screen time.
The dialogues are over the top sometimes in the second half, but then forgive them, for they are Bollywood.

A must watch for every cinema fan.

Ek Main Aur Ek Tu

A poor copy of the popular CBS Sitcoms Friends and How I Met Your Mother. Kareena Kapoor tries to be extra bubbly whilst Imran Khan has lived in the shadows of his parents. The film is further marred by the presence of Ram Kapoor, the actor who has a firang wife. Totally forgettable film, should have gone straight to the DVD. The only savior is Auntyji song...  which will keep playing in the discos for a few months.
